"Bend" અને "curve" બંને શબ્દોનો અર્થ કંઈક વાંકું કે વળાંકવાળું થવું એવો થાય છે, પણ તેમની વચ્ચે મુખ્ય તફાવત છે. "Bend" એટલે કંઈક નાના ભાગમાં અચાનક વાંકું થવું, જ્યારે "curve" એટલે કંઈક મોટા ભાગમાં ધીમે ધીમે વાંકું થવું. • The line on the graph curves upwards. (ગ્રાફ પરની રેખા ઉપર તરફ વળાંક લે છે.) Here, "curve" describes a gradual change in direction.

• He bent down to pick up the pen. (પેન ઉપાડવા માટે તે નીચે નમ્યો.) This shows a bending of a person's body. Note that "curve" wouldn't be appropriate here.
