"Distant" နဲ့ "remote" ဆိုတဲ့ အင်္ဂလိပ်စကားလုံးနှစ်လုံးဟာ တစ်ခါတလေ မြန်မာလို ဘာသာပြန်ရင် တူညီတယ်လို့ ထင်ရပေမယ့် သူတို့ရဲ့ အဓိပ္ပာယ်နဲ့ သုံးစွဲပုံမှာ ကွာခြားချက်တွေ ရှိပါတယ်။ "Distant" က ပထမဦးဆုံးအနေနဲ့ physical distance (အကွာအဝေး) ကို ပိုပြီး ဖော်ပြတာပါ။ ဆိုလိုတာက တစ်နေရာနဲ့ တစ်နေရာကြားရှိ အကွာအဝေးကို ပြောတာပါ။ "Remote" ကတော့ physical distance လည်း ပါနိုင်ပေမယ့် access (ရောက်ရှိရေး) ခက်ခဲတာ၊ လူနည်းတာ၊ သီးသန့်တာ စတဲ့ အဓိပ္ပာယ်တွေကို ပိုပြီး ထပ်ပြီး ဆိုလိုတာပါ။

ဥပမာ-

• Distant: The distant mountains were covered in snow. (တောင်တွေက အဝေးမှာ ရှိပြီး နှင်းဖုံးနေတယ်)

• Remote: He lives in a remote village, far from any city. (သူကမြို့ကြီးတွေနဲ့ဝေးတဲ့ တောင်ကျေးရွာတစ်ရွာမှာ နေထိုင်တယ်)

ဒီမှာ "distant" က တောင်တွေရဲ့ အကွာအဝေးကို ပြောတာပါ။ "remote" ကတော့ ရွာရဲ့ လူသွားလူလာနည်းပြီး မြို့နဲ့ဝေးတဲ့ နေရာကို ပြောတာပါ။

• Distant: My cousin lives in a distant city. (ကျွန်တော့်/ကျွန်မရဲ့ တူ/မက မြို့ကြီးတစ်မြို့မှာ ဝေးဝေးမှာ နေတယ်)

• Remote: The remote control allows you to change channels easily. (ရီမုတ်ကွန်ထရိုးလ်က ချန်နယ်တွေ လွယ်လွယ်ကူကူ ပြောင်းလဲနိုင်အောင် လုပ်ပေးတယ်)

ဒီမှာ "distant" က ကွာဝေးတဲ့ မြို့ကို ပြောတာဖြစ်ပြီး "remote" ကတော့ တခြား device တစ်ခုကို ထိန်းချုပ်နိုင်တဲ့ device ကို ပြောတာပါ။

• Distant: The distant past is full of mystery. (အတိတ်ကာလ ဝေးဝေးဟာ လျှို့ဝှက်ဆန်းကြယ်မှုတွေနဲ့ ပြည့်နေတယ်)

• Remote: There's a remote possibility that it might rain. (မိုးတွေ သည်းသည်းမျှမျှ ရွာနိုင်ခြေ အလွန်နည်းပါးတယ်)

ဒီမှာ "distant" က အချိန်ကာလရဲ့ အကွာအဝေးကို ပြောတာဖြစ်ပြီး "remote" က ဖြစ်နိုင်ခြေနည်းတာကို ဆိုလိုတာပါ။
