“Include” နှင့် “comprise” ဆိုတဲ့ စကားလုံးနှစ်လုံးဟာ တခါတရံမှာ အလွန်ဆင်တူပြီး စကားပြောရာမှာ လွဲမှားစေနိုင်ပါတယ်။ ဒါပေမယ့် သူတို့ရဲ့ အဓိပ္ပာယ်မှာ ကွာခြားချက်ရှိပါတယ်။ “Include” ဆိုတာ တစ်ခုခုထဲကို တခြားအရာတွေ ထည့်သွင်းတာကို ဆိုလိုတာဖြစ်ပြီး “comprise” ဆိုတာ တစ်ခုခုကို ဖွဲ့စည်းထားတဲ့ အစိတ်အပိုင်းတွေကို ဆိုလိုပါတယ်။

ဥပမာ -

• Include: The price includes tax. (ဈေးနှုန်းမှာ အခွန်ပါဝင်ပါတယ်။) This group includes students from many countries. (ဒီအဖွဲ့မှာ နိုင်ငံပေါင်းစုံက ကျောင်းသားတွေ ပါဝင်ပါတယ်။)

• Comprise: The team comprises five members. (အဖွဲ့ဟာ လူငါးယောက်နဲ့ ဖွဲ့စည်းထားပါတယ်။) The book comprises ten chapters. (စာအုပ်ဟာ အခန်းကြီး ဆယ်ခန်းနဲ့ ဖွဲ့စည်းထားပါတယ်။)

“Comprise” ကို အသုံးပြုချိန်မှာ “is comprised of” လို့ မပြောသင့်ပါဘူး။ “Comprise” ဟာ ပြီးပြည့်စုံတဲ့ အရာတစ်ခုကို ဖွဲ့စည်းထားတဲ့ အစိတ်အပိုင်းတွေကို ဆိုလိုတာဖြစ်လို့ “The team is comprised of five members.” လို့ ပြောရင် မှားပါတယ်။ “The team comprises five members.” လို့ ပြောသင့်ပါတယ်။
