"Indifferent" နဲ့ "apathetic" ဆိုတဲ့ စကားလုံးနှစ်လုံးဟာ တချို့က တူညီတယ်လို့ ထင်ကောင်းထင်ကြမှာပါ။ ဒါပေမယ့် သူတို့ရဲ့ အဓိပ္ပါယ်တွေကြားမှာ သိသာထင်ရှားတဲ့ ကွာခြားချက်တွေ ရှိပါတယ်။ "Indifferent" ဆိုတာ ဘာသာမပြုဘူး၊ ဂရုမစိုက်ဘူး၊ စိတ်မဝင်စားဘူး ဆိုတဲ့ အဓိပ္ပါယ်ပါ။ ဒါပေမယ့် ဒါဟာ တခြားသူတွေရဲ့ ခံစားချက်တွေကို သိတယ် ဆိုတဲ့ အဓိပ္ပါယ်ပါ ပါဝင်နိုင်ပါတယ်။ "Apathetic" ကတော့ ပိုပြီး ပြင်းထန်တဲ့ စကားလုံးပါ။ ဘာမှ စိတ်မဝင်စားဘူး၊ ဘာမှ ဂရုမစိုက်ဘူး၊ ဘာမှ ခံစားချက်မရှိဘူး ဆိုတဲ့ အဓိပ္ပါယ်ပါ။

ဥပမာအားဖြင့်-

• Indifferent: He was indifferent to the news about the election. (သူက ရွေးကောက်ပွဲသတင်းကို ဂရုမစိုက်ပါဘူး။) He knew it was important, but he just didn't care one way or the other. (သူသိတယ်၊ အရေးကြီးတယ်ဆိုတာ သူသိပေမယ့် သူ ဘက်လိုက်မှုမရှိပါဘူး)

• Apathetic: She was apathetic towards her studies. (သူမက သူမရဲ့ ပညာသင်ကြားမှုကို စိတ်မဝင်စားပါဘူး။) She showed no emotion or interest in anything. (သူမက ဘာမှ ခံစားချက်မရှိဘူး ၊ ဘာမှ စိတ်မဝင်စားဘူး)

"Indifferent" က တချို့အရာတွေကို ဂရုမစိုက်တာ ဖြစ်နိုင်ပေမယ့် "apathetic" ကတော့ ဘာမှ စိတ်မဝင်စားတာ၊ လုံးဝ ဂရုမစိုက်တာ ဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ "Apathetic" က "indifferent" ထက် ပိုပြီး ပြင်းထန်တဲ့ စကားလုံးဖြစ်ပါတယ်။
