“Old” နဲ့ “Ancient” ဆိုတဲ့ စကားလုံးနှစ်လုံးဟာ နှစ်အရွယ်ကြီးတာကို ဆိုလိုပေမယ့် သူတို့ရဲ့ အဓိပ္ပာယ်နဲ့ သုံးစွဲပုံမှာ ကွာခြားချက်ရှိပါတယ်။ “Old” က ယခုအချိန်နဲ့ နီးစပ်တဲ့ အရာတွေကို ဖော်ပြတဲ့အခါ သုံးပါတယ်။ ဥပမာ- လူ၊ အရာဝတ္ထု၊ အဆောက်အဦး စတာတွေပေါ့။ “Ancient” ကတော့ လွန်ခဲ့တဲ့ အချိန်ကြာမြင့်ပြီး သမိုင်းဝင်တဲ့ အရာတွေကို ဆိုလိုပါတယ်။ ပြီးတော့ ယဉ်ကျေးမှု၊ သမိုင်း၊ ထုံးတမ်းစဉ်လာ စတာတွေနဲ့ ပတ်သက်ပြီး သုံးတာများပါတယ်။

ဥပမာ-

• My grandmother is old. (အဖွားက အိုပါပြီ။) - Here, "old" refers to a person's age.
• That's an old car. (အဲဒါက ကားဟောင်းပါ။) - Here, "old" refers to something that has existed for a while, but not necessarily very long.
• Angkor Wat is an ancient temple. (အန်ကော ၀ပ်က ခေတ်ဟောင်း ဘုရားကြီး ဖြစ်ပါတယ်။) - Here, "ancient" signifies a structure with a long and significant history.
• Ancient civilizations developed advanced technologies. (ခေတ်ဟောင်း လူမျိုးတွေက ကြီးတဲ့ နည်းပညာတွေ တီထွင်ခဲ့ကြပါတယ်။) - Here, "ancient" refers to cultures and civilizations that existed a long time ago.

“Old” ကို လူ၊ အရာဝတ္ထု အမျိုးမျိုးအတွက် သုံးနိုင်ပေမယ့် “Ancient” ကတော့ အများအားဖြင့် သမိုင်းဝင်အရေးပါတဲ့ ပစ္စည်းတွေ၊ နေရာတွေ၊ သို့မဟုတ် ယဉ်ကျေးမှုတွေကို သုံးတာများပါတယ်။ ဒါကြောင့် စကားလုံးနှစ်လုံးရဲ့ အဓိပ္ပာယ်နဲ့ သုံးစွဲပုံကို သတိထားသင့်ပါတယ်။
