“Permanent” နဲ့ “lasting” ဆိုတဲ့ English စကားလုံးနှစ်လုံးဟာ ကြာရှည်တယ်၊ ခိုင်ခံ့တယ် ဆိုတဲ့ အဓိပ္ပါယ်တူတာမျိုး ပြောတာပေမယ့် သူတို့ရဲ့ အသုံးပြုပုံမှာ ကွာခြားချက်တွေ ရှိပါတယ်။ Permanent ကတော့ ထာဝရ၊ ပြောင်းလဲမရတဲ့၊ တည်တံ့ခိုင်မြဲတဲ့ အရာတွေကို သုံးပါတယ်။ Lasting ကတော့ ကြာရှည်ခံတယ်၊ ကြာမြင့်တယ် ဆိုတဲ့ အဓိပ္ပါယ်ပါပေမယ့် permanent လောက် ထာဝရတည်တံ့မှု မပြည့်စုံပါဘူး။

ဥပမာ -

• Permanent job: တသက်တာအလုပ် (တည်တံ့ခိုင်မြဲတဲ့ အလုပ်) He has a permanent job at the bank. / သူဟာ ဘဏ်မှာ တသက်တာအလုပ်ရှိတယ်။

• Lasting friendship: ကြာရှည်ခံတဲ့ ချစ်ကြည်ရေး They have a lasting friendship. / သူတို့မှာ ကြာရှည်ခံတဲ့ ချစ်ကြည်ရေးရှိတယ်။

• Permanent marker: ပြောင်းလဲမရတဲ့ ခဲတံ ( permanent marker နဲ့ရေးထားရင် ပျက်မသွားဘူး) A permanent marker is used to write on a plastic bottle. / ပလပ်စတစ်ပုလင်းပေါ်မှာ ရေးဖို့ permanent marker ကို သုံးတယ်။

• Lasting impression: ကြာရှည်ခံတဲ့ သြဇာ The movie made a lasting impression on me. / ဒီရုပ်ရှင်က ကျွန်တော့်မှာ ကြာရှည်ခံတဲ့ သြဇာ ဖြစ်စေတယ်။

Permanent ကို ပြောင်းလဲမရတဲ့ အရာတွေအတွက် သုံးပြီး Lasting ကို ကြာရှည်တဲ့ အရာတွေအတွက် သုံးတာကို သတိပြုမိဖို့ လိုပါတယ်။
