"Scale" နဲ့ "Measure" ဆိုတဲ့ စကားလုံးနှစ်လုံးဟာ အင်္ဂလိပ်စကားမှာ တစ်ခါတလေ တူညီတဲ့ အဓိပ္ပာယ်နဲ့ သုံးလို့ရပေမယ့် အဓိကကွာခြားချက်လေးတွေ ရှိပါတယ်။ "Measure" ဆိုတာ တိုင်းတာတယ်၊ တွက်ချက်တယ် ဆိုတဲ့ အဓိပ္ပာယ်ကို ပိုပြီး ပြောတာဖြစ်ပြီး၊ "Scale" ကတော့ တိုင်းတာတယ်ဆိုတဲ့ အဓိပ္ပာယ်လည်း ပါတယ်၊ ဒါပေမယ့် တစ်ခုနဲ့တစ်ခု နှိုင်းယှဉ်တာ၊ တိုင်းတာတဲ့ စနစ်၊ ဒါမှမဟုတ် ပမာဏတစ်ခုရဲ့ ကြီးမားမှု ဒါမှမဟုတ် သေးငယ်မှုကို ပြသတဲ့ အရာ (ဥပမာ - ကြွက်သားရဲ့ ပမာဏ၊ မြေပုံရဲ့ စကေး) ကို ပြောတာပိုများပါတယ်။

ဥပမာ -

• Measure: I measured the length of the table. (ကျွန်တော်/ကျွန်မ စားပွဲရဲ့ အရှည်ကို တိုင်းတာခဲ့တယ်)

• Measure: Let's measure the success of this project. (ဒီ Project ရဲ့ အောင်မြင်မှုကို တွက်ချက်ကြရအောင်)

• Scale: The map is drawn to a scale of 1:100,000. (မြေပုံကို ၁:၁၀၀၀၀၀ စကေးနဲ့ ဆွဲထားပါတယ်)

• Scale: The scales on the weighing machine are broken. (ချိန်တွယ်စက်ရဲ့ ချိန်တွယ်တဲ့ တံတားက ပျက်နေတယ်)

• Scale: He climbed the mountain on a large scale. (သူက ကြီးမားတဲ့ စီမံကိန်းနဲ့ တောင်တက်ခဲ့တယ်)

"Scale" ကို လေ့လာရာမှာ "on a large scale" (ကြီးမားတဲ့ စီမံကိန်းနဲ့) "on a small scale" (သေးငယ်တဲ့ စီမံကိန်းနဲ့) စတဲ့ စကားစုတွေကို သတိထားသင့်ပါတယ်။ "Measure" ကို လေ့လာရာမှာ တိုင်းတာတဲ့ ယူနစ်တွေ (inches, centimeters, kilograms etc.) နဲ့ ပေါင်းပြီး သုံးတာကို သတိပြုမိရမယ်။
