• Adhere: We must adhere to the rules of the game. (நாம் விளையாட்டின் விதிகளுக்குக் கட்டுப்பட வேண்டும்.) Here, "adhere" refers to following a rule or principle. We don't "stick" to rules.

• Stick: The mud stuck to my shoes. (களிமண் என் காலணிகளில் ஒட்டிக்கொண்டது.) Simple and casual attachment.

• Adhere: The paint failed to adhere to the damp surface. (ஈரமான மேற்பரப்பில் வர்ணம் ஒட்டவில்லை.) Here, "adhere" focuses on the success or failure of the bonding process.
