強壯 (strong) 和 強大 (powerful) 兩個英文詞彙雖然都有「強」的意思，但它們的側重點卻有所不同。一般來說，strong 指的是身體上的強壯，或者意志上的堅強；powerful 則指的是力量或影響力上的強大。

strong 通常描述的是體格上的強健，例如肌肉發達、耐力好等等。它也可以形容人的意志堅定，例如：

• He is a strong man. 他是個強壯的男人。(He has a strong physique.)
• She has a strong will. 她意志堅定。(She has a strong will.)

powerful 則更強調力量和影響力，可以指物體的力量，也可以指人的權力、影響力等等。例如：
